Abstract: 

The grape industry of Binchuan County in Yunnan Province of China is an important one for the local economy. To improve performance, elements of e-commerce are being introduced. However, it is not clear what the optimal strategy would be for the introduction of the e-commerce system. To attempt to fill this gap, the current study uses SWOT analysis and the AHP quantitative analysis approach with a Delphi panel of experts to obtain factor weights and scores from the experts consulted. Subsequently, a four-dimensional strategic centre coordinate model was created to locate the gravity and strategic orientation angle. It is concluded that an opportunity type of strategy should be employed and suggestions for how this might be achieved are provided.
