Review of Dunnett’s The Unicorn Hunt


This is the fifth of Dorothy Dunnett’s eight books in the House of Niccolo series and it sees the eponymous hero travel to Scotland, Venice, Cairo, the Sinai desert and then back to Cyprus, the principal site of one of the previous books. The action is driven by the rivalry between Niccolo and his new wife, Gelis, the search for three mule loads of gold stolen from the House and the broadening and deepening of the business empire.
