Fighting Climate Change: The Role of Nuclear Power

There is no doubt that nuclear power plants contain within themselves the  capacity to kill thousands of people and poison wide swathes of land – yet  accidents of such scale have been quite rare in the time of their operation and,  in any case, the problems caused by conventional power production (e.g. from  coal or oil) have also led to numerous deaths and incidences of environmental degradation.
